I normally gig my 1x10 Ghia combo with my country band. But last night was a outdoor gig, so I decided to take the 'big rig'. I use it with a 1x12 Avatar with a creamback.
This is only my second gig with the creamback, and maybe only my third with the Remedy in about 2 years. I figured with no side or back walls, I can let things rip a little louder. But I get there and the stage has a roof and a back wall, and one side wall....my side. So I'm back to dealing with volume issues. Oh well.
The last time I gigged the Remedy was the first time with the creamback, and while very very good, it was a little different than I was used too, so there was the 'it's different' factor. Small things like a little more muscle, a little quicker breakup (fixed by turning the volume down), a little more compression. (again fixed by turning volume down)
But last night, I knew what to expect. I'm using my tele. And with that combination of tele, Remedy and creamback, there's that extra 2% of magic that sets it apart from other setups. Truly inspirational tone. Not that my playing was inspirational..ha ha. (I give myself a B for last night) Of course this 2% I speak of could just because it's 2% different than the Ghia. Because I remember when I got the Ghia....I felt the same magic. Perhaps just changing things 2% keeps things interesting and makes you pay attention a little more.
There may be some other amps in my future: a practice amp, maybe some direct recording box....but when it comes to live gigging amps, I'm done. Between the Remedy and the Ghia, I'll never buy another amp for the rest of my life.

Not to take the thread in a different direction, but I'm glad to hear your comments about the Ghia John. I just bought one off BST (thanks fishbeiner!) and am hoping it will be my new gig amp to save carrying the Remedy/1-12 cab setup. The Ghia should be here tomorrow or Tuesday. I love the Rem, but saving some weight and space will be welcome if it works out.

I have the same set up as you John the remedy/creamback and the 1/10 ghia with the gold and I hear you brother. I feel like as far as amps go Im pretty much covered. Now that I have the remedy with the MV I have no use for a practice amp it is my practice amp and my main amp. I use the Ghia when I tavel to other churches. Did a gig this week up in Riverside Ca in a pretty big church amd the mighty Ghia rocked! I almost took my remedy and other 1/12 cab with the creamback. No complaints at all the ghia is just a easy fun amp to play and it puts out some serious tone. What more could you ask for?
Answer Antidote
I figured I would beat somebody to the punch on that one. I would love an antidote. I am not even gonna front on that. However I am very happy with my two Z' I have right now. They suit me just fine and cover alot of ground.

Pretty sure you said this around 5 years ago when you had your Rt66 kc I know, but things are a bit different now. I realize I'm an old school Marshall guy at heart. It's one of the reasons I like the Remedy so much. And the Ghia falls more in the Marshall camp than other vintage amp tones. I've had a Route 66 and a Z-28...and while wonderful amps, I just had a bit of a hard time adapting to the volume/tonestack. It's been almost two years now with the Remedy/Ghia, and there's never been a moment where I've thought about trading either. And yes, NMZ, it's an open back.

I think I might be on the same road. I currently have a 28', a Maz 18nr, and just ordered a Ghia. But I have been really wanting a Remedy and the Maz may help to fund it.

I been down that road myself. I had a z 28 too. Sold my maz jr and also my z-28. I am also a old school Marshall type as well. The Ghia and the Remedy really ended my quest for that type of tone. I do like the Antidote but with the MV on the Remedy it pretty much sealed the deal. The MV on the Remedy is great because I can jam at home now at lower volumes. Plus still use it live wide open with the MV out of the mix and it still sounds like the non master version of the Remedy.
