I have been experimenting with speakers for my Maz38NR head.Right now I have a Blue/G12H combo.I like each speaker by themselves but not sure if I like the combo. The GH12H sounds full and round and stays pretty clean a moderate levels. The Blue doesn't have a lot of bass and chimes for days. The problem I'm having is one speaker will sound muddy while the other is bright with the same amp settings. It's almost as if they are fighting each other.Same goes for the low end.Is there something else to pair with the blue that might work better?I may end up getting another Blue.I'm afraid of blowing the Blues when the Maz is cranking.

Weber Silver Bell. Broad, slight high end rolloff. Not quite as dark as a G12H to my ears, little smoother in the mids. Kind of like a fatter late 60's Greenback. Would pair up nicely with the Celestion Blue, as the Weber Blue/Silver combo is wildly popular and sounds amazing. And, hey...speaking of fatter "greenback" types, I gotta two week old Eminence Private Jack that I'd sell for cheap. Would also match up well with the Blue. Sounds good, I'm just partial to the Webers. In fact, I've got the Private Jack loaded in a 1 12" Dr. Z cab, and I think I'm going to use it tonight on my gig with my MAZ38NR head...

Try checking out the Celestion Gold. It would be just as loud as the Blue/G12H combination you have ... and you can get both characteristics within this speaker. It's 50 watts so you'll never have to worry about blowing it.
