I just got this amp and when I tried it out in the store I tried it on a little Bogner cube and loved the tone, but man, those cabs are pricey. I want to pick up a 1x12 closed-back cab to use withe the Maz for smaller club gigs. Ideally, I'd like a small, affordable cabinet where the Maz head won't stick out over the ends of the cab when it's on top of the cab. Probably going to go with an 8 ohm Vintage 30 for this cab as well. Thanks for any suggestions!

I have an Avatar 112 cube style cab with an oval cut in the back. It's not the quality of a Z or Bogner cab but it sounds great!

Yeah, the little Z cab I have kicks a$$. Worth the dough if you can swing it. However, I know several guys that use the Avatar cabs & love them. DWeller on here has a 2 12" that sounds killer.

Check out Mojotone too. Their cabs may fit the head.

I have two Avatar 1x12's that I use with my Maz38 head. The closed back has an Eminence Governor, and the open back has an Alnico Tone Tubby. Both sound great. In my experience, Avatar is a wonderful company. I wouldn't hesitate to purchase from them.

I have an Avatar 212 (their standard build, not the vintage). It's killer. The 112 (standard build) dimensions were too small for the Z-heads. Can't speak to their Vintage series, but I'd feel confident they're rock solid and toneful. That said, I just received a JDesign 112 and am QUITE impressed with it. Would say to definately consider their 112. It's the same depth as the Z heads and my Maz Sr cab and just a little wider than my 6545 head (which is wider still than the R66).

Would look like they were made for each other - does with my Z heads.

I'm trying to hold out for Z's newer designed 112 cab, but it maybe a while before that actually happens. JDesign does look nice.

I have the JDesign Vintage 112 also, and the MAZ Jr 18 head fits on top like they were made for each other. Great cab IMO.

Avatar makes a Vintage 1x12 dimensions 24"W x 20.5"H x 11"D. Goes for $229 plus shipping equipped with a Vintage 30. The head will fit with about 2.5" of cab on either side. It's also a bit heavier than their standard 1x12.
Top notch product, and company. Dave is a prince.

I just got my Earcandy Boa 1X12 ES and it's a great little cab - my Mazerati 1X12 combo fits right on it. They make great stuff and Tim is a great guy to deal with. I also have their BuzzBomb 2X12 and it rocks.

Hey hdahs, I talked w/ Dave this morning about that same cab. We talked for a good 20 mins about speakers, ebay, the celestion shortage last year - what a cool guy. I'm definitely going to go with that cab I'm just not sure which speaker to put in it...
Tim w/ Earcandy is a great guy too - he fixed me up with a sweet convertable 2x10 cab.
