Decided to put 30 watt Ceramic Blue Dog and Silver Bells into my Z best, replacing the Texas Heat and the G12H30 Celestion that had been there. This pair sounds so good in my Mesa 2x12 that I can't wait to check them out in the ZB. I like the fact that these have a little more headroom than the alnicos... I don't like too much speaker compression. The Webers sound extremely sweet and round in the Mesa. The Z Best with the current speakers is a beast, but a little raw for me. I think the Webers will tame it a bit.
I'm sure someone has some feedback about this speaker/cab combo.... Thoughts? I run a Ghia and a Maz 38 NR and both have sounded terrific through the smaller Mesa. With the oomph of the ported ZB I hope to get that sweetness AND skull crushing volume when I need it...
