They were actually designed and built over here in the UK by Stewart Ward of Award-Session (originally for Jerry Donahue), but they were marketed in the USA by Morley. I've pretty much always plugged straight into the amp with nothing in the chain except a tuner. However, I did buy a JD10 many years ago to use as a solo booster. I only used it a handful of times through my old Fender Concert, but then went back to just using the guitar volume control and, since I've been using Z's, I've never felt the need to add anything into the chain. Anyway, I was going though stuff in my spare room the other day and came across the JD10. I'll have to give it a try again sometime, but was just wondering if any of you guys had ever owned or used one. Any thoughts/comments?

I have one. They're actually pretty hard to find these days. I've always thought of it as more of an early version of a modeler. Played through a clean amp like a Twin Reverb or especially a SS amp you can really get some good sounds. I used to run mine through a JC120 and it could sound pretty convincing.
I always thought Stewart was an under recognized genius.

Great pedal. I've used one for everything from overdrive to amp emulator for recording. A ridiculously cool tool.
