i am getting an old fender bandmaster,,, i have a dr z 2/10 cab i want to use with it. everything i have read says to use a 4 ohm spkr load.. the z cab is rated for 8 ohms,, i am geussing this is two 16 ohm z spkrs wired for an 8 ohm load... can i rewire these spkrs for a 4 ohm load.. there would be no harm to run the fender 4 ohm amp into an 8 ohm load, but it wouldnt be as loud. any help would be great. i could email dr z, but he is prolly swamped these days,,, thanks, james

You can't rewire 2 16 ohm speakers for a 4 ohm load and I wouldn't mismatch the cabinet, at least not in an amp I liked.

The Z 10's are 16 ohms for sure.

I thought all the 10's were 16, too, but if in doubt, connect a DMM to one of the speakers. The ohm reading will be a little less than what the speaker is rated (so, maybe it will show 13 for a 16 ohm speaker, 6 for an 8, etc.).
If you have another 8 ohm cab, you could just connect it in parallel with the Z and you'll be at 4.
