I saw on Weber's site that he is going to be offering higher power versions of most of his speakers. The Blue Dog and Silver Bell will now be available in 75 and 100 watt versions. Maybe if you want a 1x12 for your SRZ, you could now use a Silver Bell?

Just curious if there is much difference between tone and response from one end of the power spectrum to the other?..Sterling

Supposedly they get "warmer/darker" as you go up in power handling.

Supposedly they get "warmer/darker" as you go up in power handling. Bingo... The higher the power, the smoother and warmer it will be. The trade-off is that you lose some "life" and dynamic qualities of the speaker. Just have to find that nice, happy medium to dial in the power/tone ratio for your individual setup.

Silver bell it is for me! I've given up on the Gold. Silver bell Alnico is my Favorite speaker... incredible with every Z I've played... really gives it a different character/ flavor than the Blue dog which is my second favorite... also really like the ceramic version especially with the RX amps. Silver bell and a Maz SR.... is just sweet.

James, question for you sir about the Weber speakers. You say a Maz SR w/ a Alnico Silver is sweat, what kind of cab are we talking about, open or closed? 1x12, 2x12? What wattage?
Also you said you had experience w/ the ceramics as well, I would love to hear your opinion on the ceramics, especially the 50 watt Silver. Thank you in advance!!
