So if i'm combining two speakers in a 2x12, I know the following (at least i think i do - pls correct me if I'm wrong! ;D):
- two 8 ohm speakers wired in parallel make a 4 ohm cab - the handling power of the cab wired in parallel is 2 times the lower wattage speaker (i.e., a V30/G12H30 combo can handle 60 watts - 2 times the 30 watt G12H30) - two 8 ohm speakers wired in series make a 16 ohm cab
So the question: what's the wattage of a cab when the speakers are wired in series? Is it also 2 times the lower wattage speaker? thx

Benttop - just looked through your site. Great info. Thanks. So say I want to run two 2x12 cabs (each 8 ohms) ... I have both a series and parallel Y-cord from pro cables and sound. If i combined the two cabs using the parallel Y-cord, I get a 4 ohm load. And if I use the series Y-cord, it's basically the same as the series/parallel wiring for a 4x12 cab, and it will give me a 16 ohm load, right? thanks for the help!
