I posted this in the z-28 forum, but I realize maybe I should have posted it here.............can anyone help?
I recently bought an Orange AD30r 2-12 combo, and I really like it a lot, however I went from a 65 Super Reverb Reissue, and am missing the Fender clean sound. While I was in the store buying the Orange, I made the mistake of playing a Z-28 1-12 combo. It had a greenback in it, and I can't get that amp out of my head. I am really thinking about trading my Orange in on it. My question is...if I buy the Z-28, can I use it with an extension cabinet while I'm using the combo speaker, and if so what impedance does the cab need to be. I have seen that the combo's have 4 and 8 ohm outputs on them, and I know that I can use combo as a head with different cabs, but using the combo speaker with an extension cab will greatly influence my decision. If I can use the 1-12 combo, and have the flexibility to add an additional 1-12 or 2-10 cab, I'll definitely get the Z! Thanks for your help. I've got Z-Fever..........BAD!!!!!!!

You can, but you'll need a Y adapter (i.e. you CANNOT plug into both outputs on the amp). Assuming the combo is 8 ohm, you could plug the [parallel] Y into the 4 ohm output and use the combo's speaker with another 8 ohm cab.

Thanks for the info. I'm going to get the Z-28 in a few hours. Can't wait. Haven't been this excited over a piece of gear since my DW snare. That's right.....I'll admit it.........I really a drummer. Just a recreational guitarist. But I love them there Z amps!
