Currently I have 2 p10r RI's and 2 c10Q RI's in my '69 Super. I wonder how 4 of Z's 10's would sound in my Super? Or should I re-cone the CTS Alnico's?

With the Z 10's you will have more headroom and less compression. It will also be very LOUD. Can you buy Z's speakers now?

I had my alnico's in my super reverb reconed....I wanted to keep it as original as possible....though that may be changing now that I've got the Maz 18...I can afford to experiment a little with my super now that I have another amp i can rely on. I think I just might have my super blackfaced

Uh, is it that you don't like that combo of speakers you have in there? That is a sweet set in a Super as far as I'm concerned, as long as they're broken in. As far as the CTS's go, yeah, get them reconed and try them. If you don't like them you should be able to sell them easily...

DON'T sell the speakers. You may need/want to sell that amp someday and the wrong speakers in it will make a significant dent in value. Bad original speakers don't hurt the value of the amp as much as wrong speakers. So try some others but box up the original ones and hang on to them. I always thought it would be fun to try 4 different speakers in a Super Reverb. Maybe an old Vox, a Jensen, an EV and a JBL or Altec, or Tone Tubby. I always thought the CTS alnicos were a great speaker in those amps
