Lovin my updated Remedy with the MV and EQ bypass. Now that I am going to be playing it all summer, I want to get a backup set of 6V6 output tubes just in case...
My amp has the stock JJ's and it sounds great. Are there any brands that you guys found that sound better/different than the JJ's? I am not opposed to sticking with the JJ's but just wondering if there was anything different.

Doc says only JJ's for the Remedy. As far as I know this is the only amp that he has made such a statement and I figure he knows what he is talking about. I'm sticking with the JJ's on this one.

For me, a little knowledge is a dangerous thing..... and I have little knowledge on this subject...... so I stick to whatever the Doc supplied me with in the first place, as I figure the tone it came with is the tone I love, so why mess with a good thing? In this case, it's JJs, so that's what I'll stick with. In fact, the guys who did the mods for me concur with this - they reckon the JJs are the best valve for this amp too (I got told off for calling it a "tube" - that's a piece of flexible pipe, or a train which goes under the ground in London )

That's funny Pete. You must be listening to too many of us Yanks talk. If I said I need a new valve around here, most would think I need open heart surgery.

I put Tungsols in mine the 1st re-tube I did and about 2 months later I put a new set of JJ's in because the Tungsols just didnt sound as good. I keep the Tungsols as a backup in a pinch

^^^ Same for me. Bought & tried a Quad Of Tung Sol. JJs went right back in. I now have another quad of JJs for back up. The Tung Sols wil be used elsewhere. And I think Andy?? Had some Tung Sols fail on him. It my understanding JJs are the only 6V6 VALVES robust enough to use in the Rem.

Stick to JJs. I've had some bad experiences with Tung Sols and NOS (not regarding sound, but reliability). Enjoy your tonal beast. Tons of tone!!
