I figured I'll get around to purchasing a creamback for one of my 1x12 cabinets. I see that I've got an outdoor show in two weeks. That's close enough...order has been placed.
I'll be using the Remedy for some of the larger outdoor shows this summer. Ghia 1x10 is my indoor/regular amp of choice for this modern country band.

I am looking forward to this review. The outdoor gig will make for a great test John - enjoy the 40 watts!

It will be a tempered review, because it will be the Remedy and the Creamback together. I haven't played the Remedy in a while. So it will basically be a review of the two, vs the Ghia and 10" gold. I do remember the Remedy compressing/overdriving more.
It would be REALLY nice if I could A/B/C the 1)Creamback in my openback, 2)the Z-best with Heritage Greenbacks and 3)a closed 1x12 with a WGS Green Beret.
I do have a friend that lives out in the country a bit, he wants me to come over and blast away....perhaps I'll take him up on it. But he plays nothing but hard rock and metal....kinda ick/

Let us know what you think John. I just got mine a couple weeks ago and really like it.....although it's not broken in yet. I'm running the cab closed back.

John I have had mine for a while now too and it still is breaking in. I did a a/b with the ghia and the 10 inch gold and the creamback and the ghia sounded killer with the creamback. The creamback was actually brighter sounding then the gold but in a good way. It still had that nice bass and warm crunch. Its def a great speaker for the remedy. You will never have to play at 20 watts again with the creamback nor will you want too unless you are playing at home.

The creamback is here, I installed it in my 1x12 Avatar openback. I didn't have any chance to break it in. Put the Remedy on top, fired it up. I had the ability to..under severe bedroom airbrake conditions....A/B against my Z-best with Heritage greenbacks.
I used both my tele and 335. Started out with the 335 and it was SO COOL to play a humbucker through a Remedy. (Haven't done that in a while) B/M/T all at noon, bright volume @ 2:00. I might as well leave the bass volume off. (I've found I can do this as long as I don't have the treble go past noon.)
The creamback immediately sounded better than the Legacy I had in there. The Legacy is all midrange. (not all of them are like that, just the 30oz magnet @ 65 watts....read a few other reviews on the web that said the same thing.) There wasn't the immediate dislike/questioning of tone like when I first got the Legacy.
The Creamback is in an openback, so it's going to have less bass and more mids than my Z-best. My Z-best is loaded with Heritage greenback to try to bring down the volume (they're 96db speakers) and they're pretty light on the bass....something the Z-best will compensate for.
I did notice the Z-best was better matched with the 335.
The creamback seemed considerably louder. It's a 1db louder speaker. But I bet part of my perceptions was the upper mids coming through. That's more in the human hearing range. The Z-best seemed considerably more mid recessed. But it would be next to an openback.
I've hardly ever used my Z-best...even around the house. The one gig I used it on, I was playing modern country with a tele. I did NOT like the Z-best. Even with the smaller magnets of the Hert greenbacks, there was a huge low end thump. Not the sound I was looking for. Would be great with humbuckers...but not my cup o' tea with singles.
I know things will be different at louder/stage volumes...but this is what I have to report as of now. I have an outdoor gig in 2 1/2 weeks. I'll probably bring the volume knob down a bit to clean up the tone.
Looking forward to more bass out of the creamback as it breaks in. Legacy going on Craigslist.

Loving the creamback with my Remedy. I ended up selling my Z-best. The creamback open back just works so much better for me. Once you get to the point where you can get the remedy cooking at 40 watts in a live gigging situation you will be even more impressed with it.

I've been usin the Creamback with my Remedy for a while now, it's starting to be more 'broken in'. I, for now, prefer it with a semi-open back cab, and I'm seriously thinking about getting a semi-open 2x12" and get another one... Tons of tone!!

I can't wait to hear the new version of the remedy through the creamback.

I'm tempted to use it tonight...but I'm already tired, so the 1x10 Ghia wins.

I'm wondering if the MV upgrade won't make it possible to go back to the Gold (will def try it, at least for comparison's sake). The Creamback's awesome, but it's still a little on the bright side to my ear.

What about your G12-65, Pete? You seem pretty happy with it, no?

I am indeed John, but not sure it would be THAT different from the Creamback....... but I'm just looking at freq charts etc. I also like a nice bright top end, not ice picky, but I like my speaker to cut through.

The Creamback's awesome, but it's still a little on the bright side to my ear. I think the Gold is definitely an option for me with the new Remedy MV/EQ mods. The Creamback it great as is the Gold. I'm getting my gold back tomorrow from the guy is sold it to. Swapping my V30 for it :-). My thoughts are to put it back in the 1x12 open-back so I can use it with my Remedy & Maz jr. I LOVE the Maz / Gold pairing. BAD NEWS is: I probably will end up with another 1x12 Z cab for the Creamback.

Got the Gold back from my buddy. I wonder if he toasted it... I don't think so but it sounds thin an buzzy compared to the Creamback which I find MUCH warmer overall. Gold came right back out and Creamback went back in. I am liking my Creamback / Remedy pairing for sure.
I put the gold in place of the V30 I swapped for it. So it's in the 2x12 with a G12H30. It sounds much better that by itself. Does this sound odd to any of you speaker gurus?

A gold and a H will sound fine. They're both 100db speakers, you've got the recessed mids of the H offset by the pronounced mids of the gold. You've got the light bass of the gold offset by the heavy bass of the H.
