Are these really worth the trouble? How much trouble are they to install?

If you feel like your speakers are too bright, particularly when you're directly in front of your amp the answer is YES! I really liked them in a cabinet I had that was very beamy/directional with its high frequencies. I installed the BB's and it cured it without sacrificing the tone. They're a snap to install if you have a powered screwdriver . All you have to do is take the back off your cabinet, unscrew the T-nuts to dismount the speakers, lay the BB on the baffle so the dome faces the cone of the speaker, put the speaker back on, rescrew it in, and boom!

WeberVST is the only source and the manufacturer. Google WeberVST and it'll take you right to it.

Just get them from www.webervst.com/blocker.html . They're a pretty inexpensive tweak, at $18 a piece for the 12" size. [oops - sorry, just saw billyguitar beat me to it]

Somewhere in another thread, BW said he thought a Beam Blocker changed the tone of his one 12 cab too much. He's the only one who had anything even remotely negative to say about them.

Actually billy, I didn't get along that well with 'em. I put one over an Eminence Swamp Thang in a Z 1x12, and it came back out within hours. Also tried it with a Celestion Blue, and felt it knocked the highs right out of the speaker. Most people dig 'em, I'm satisfied without. Best thing to do is try it and see, they're not that expensive.

I tried mine again last night in a real live room. We were playin' purty loud and I didn't notice as much of a difference. Single 12 Celestion G12-100H Senior AND KT45 heads. I'll take it to England and see what the ol' ladies in the front row think.....

You'll blow the the hair spray out of their blue Q-tip hairdos! I hope that's not Mayall's fan base now-a-days! (I know it's not. I'm a kidder!)

I like the way they're all holding onto their purses! The funny thing is, if I was 10 years older they'd probably start to look pretty good to me. I take that back, I'll probably never settle down again!
