I know these are entry level newbie Celestions and occasionally cited as oems for some Marshall 4x12s. Anyone ever use one with a Z and have any feedback to share? I know, its like putting retreads on a BMW, but just wondering..?

I know, its like putting retreads on a BMW, but just wondering..? I tried one in a Holland amp about 2 years ago and it did not compliment the amp at all. It was small sounding, lifeless & had no low end. Compared to the speakers you've been using, I think you might find these to be very disappointing. Now I understand why these sell so cheaply. I wouldn't use the rockets if they were free!

About what I expected. I grabbed one at GC a year or so back as an emergency replacement (at $29.95, why not keep it as a spare?) but the reviews are generally that it's mediocre. i'm in swapping mode, so I wondered if I should even waste the solder on it...

Yeah...I got mine at GC too for the same price if I remember correctly. For the money, I said what the heck and bought one on impulse. I got it on a Saturday and retruned it on Sunday. Maybe they do better in pairs or quads, but it sounded pretty bad in a 1x12 combo.
