Anyone try the Rem with a 16ohm 1x12 speaker?

I tried it with a 16 Ohm Vintage 30. Sounded good. It was a little too modern for me. I prefer the Greenback.
I seriously doubt you can tell much of a difference between an 8 or 16 ohm speaker. Some claim they can but I would bet in a blind taste test, not many could tell. Put you amp in a band setting and no one will ever know.
I think there may be something to using all the winds on the output transformer, as that is where the sound of the amp comes from. Running at 16 ohms uses all the windings. 8 and 4 are less. But I doubt I could tell so I would just design your speakers to be used on all your amps. If you own a Ghia or will in the future, it may be best to get an 8 ohm 1x12 so you could use it with a Ghia as well.

You'll never hear it in a stage situation, but you might hear a difference if you're close miking in a studio setting. But you would have to be pretty picky to notice.

Thanks....I used a different amp with a 8ohm gold and a Dreaded (for some not me) G12h @ 16 ohms and love the G12H..go figure. It's time for me to get a Creamback to try.

I played it for a while with a 16 ohm Creamback in a 1x12. Sounded great. Now I've got two 16 ohm Creambacks in parallel in a 2x12. Sounds better.

I gots to get me a Creamback in the 16 ohm. A Remedy and a Ventrua will love it I bet. I have a bad back so use two 1x12 in a stacklett.
