anyone use one of these? The soundclips make it sound like a nice little , portable practice amp.....specifically the clean version. I was wondering if it would be able to power a single low wattage 12 inch like the g12h?
Jus' wondering......and looking for a cheap "practice" setup that I can also haul out to the corner and try and earn some "tips" from passers by!

The 1/2 watt Classic is a great little amp. It can power a 12 no problem. I hooked up my 1/2 watt Classic to my Z 4x10 cab & it was able to run that cab without any problem. In my opinion the 1/2 watt Classic is well worth the price.

Thanks Prowler.............I had a feeling this was a cool toy......well worth the small $.....
BTW......seems like the other "hotter" 1/2 watt version would suit your high gain practice needs .....(referring to your post about the mini and the cot 50.......)

The high gain version might suit my needs but I'm trying a low gain preamp tube in my Mini before I try anything else.

that's quite a difference in tone between the two. I would do the clean amp, and use some overdrive I guess. It looks cool too. I tried the Zvex Nano Head, but at $425 or so it's too limited, and small sounding, no low end.

I tried the Nano & it wasn't what I was looking for. I did try a 12ay7 tube in my Mini & it was better but still not what I wanted my Mini to sound like with my drive pedals. However it did give my Mini more headroom which is a plus. I'm going to keep the 12ay7 in the Mini & try my 1/2 watt with my drive pedal.

I ordered a 1/2 watt 3 days ago............already dreaming of taking my z 1x 12 cab, the 1/2 watt and my strat and playing downtown in this large echo-ee arcade....should be some huge natural reverb!

I still want a small amp to take outdoors, just for practice and home playing. ONe of these might do the trick.
