I own a Z-Wreck since 1 week...amazing...amazing... I have spent 1 year testing amps looking for the ultimative tone...hard task, isn't it? Then I tested the Wreck...search over!!!!! I would like to say hello to the Z-community and hope to be able to contribute to it.
I have a question already: I own a silver stack. The Celestion Blue Alnico is rated 15W. What happens if I crank the amp up to full power? Tube amps deliver much more power than specified RMS-ratings...30W from the Wreck into 2 speakers and one of them is max. 15W? Any idea? Thanks
Frank

Welcome to the Forum Frank! Great amp you have there! When you say silver stack do you mean that you have the Z-Wreck cabinet with C. Blue and C. gold in it? If so, you will not have any problems cranking it up to full power - except for the neighbors maybe!

Welcome muZician and Big congrats on an awesome amp!
The speakers will be fine with the amp at full power. Dr Z would not use it if it wouldn't handle it. When two speakers are wired in series, as the 'Wreck cab is, the power rating is twice the power rating as the lowest powered speaker. So...you have a 30 watt speaker cab.
Crank and enjoy!~

Thanks for the warm welcome , folks! I do trust the Doc, no doubt and I will use the amp as loud as the situation will allow My question on the power rating of the box was for my personal understanding. With my Marshall based 100W amp (4xEL34 power stage) I cannot go full power over my 4x12 box even if the 4 Greenbacks (4x25W) equal the RMS rating of the amp. If I do it I fry the speakers… So with a Celestion Blue and a Gold one in series it is 15W nominal over each speaker with the Z-Wreck. But these figures are just RMS ratings…and the power of a cranked up tube amp is far above its RMS rating…<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
Just wondering…sometimes tube amp technology is really hard to understand J
