Has anybody tried the Mojotone Vintage British speakers? They have three that are supposed to copy a Vintage 30, G12H & Green Back.

I have the bv30v 16 ohm teamed with a real g12h greenback(2x12 open). I think it sounds great. I also have an 8 ohm in my deluxe reverb at the moment and I'm in no hurry to take it out. Its had a Jensen Neo, a Reverend Alltone and an EV(a while ago). I like them. You can pick them up cheap on ebay and they are made by eminence. Savage amps has some in their new line I beleive. I also have an old vintage 30 in my Studio15 and I'd say they were similar. Mojo might be a touch less "edgey" for lack of a better term. My RXES sounds excellent through the 2x12 cab...much louder than the 2 greenbacks in the combo but since the amp is so powerful I held up from swapping. Thicker tone for sure but the 25 watt greenies have their thing happening too , get sweeter every gig. Anything I put through that 2x12 sounds great though...jtm45, tremolux, bassman..Guess I could say I like them..sorry to ramble on...

Thanks for the info Frank. I took a chance and ordered the BV-30H (G12H). They claim they are voiced more like the older G12H, as opposed to the Chinese. We'll see. Thanks for your reply. Karma commin' at ya!

Hey thanks, Let me know how it is...I was trying to buy a BV30H and the guy I bought it from had it listed wrong...hope it works out for you. By the way, I see were asking about EF86's. My tech says no matter what you buy it will go microphonic pretty quick. The head version should reduce vibrations but get some of those tube dampers...Mine made a funny noise on a certain note but after the I put the dampers on it was fine...RXES is great..does it all for me.

Frank, I'll let you know on the BV-30H, but I ordered it with a speaker cab, so I won't be seeing it for about 3 weeks.
The EF86 in my new RX ES came with a big piece of heat shrink around it. I guess that's the doctors own tube damper. Mesa does this with some of their overpriced, special super duper quiet Russian 12AX7s that sell for $20.00 a pop!
BTW vote on the grill cloth poll I started. I'm trying to decide what grill cloth to use....salt & pepper or older Marshall checkered. Just select one at the top of the thread to vote.

I have a BV-25M that came stock in my Swart Atomic Tone. I've given up speaking in terms of British or American tone any more and essentially follow my ears these days. Like someone else mentioned, one of these Mojotones in a Deluxe-style amp (like the Swart) sound pretty impressive.
I had planned on yanking the BV-25M when I ordered the Swart. But it sounded so good that I no longer even entertain that notion.
I love it

Ive got a pair of MOJO 10's in my 65 Vibrolux, and they sound great! Woody and warm, and when you spank em, they get that nice Jensen-y voice, IMO better than the p-10 re-issues.
