Well edgie, you are just about where I am for the same reasons. I jumped at a Remedy anyway based on YouTube and fellow Z nuts up here, and the moment I heard it on the day I collected it, I knew I had made the right decision. In fact, as I walked into Peach Guitars, John was blasting away on gorgeous Suhr guitar, clean with sizzle, and it was LOUD. I was thinking, "okay mate, that sounds great, whatever it is, but where's my Remedy?" Of course, it WAS my Remedy! Those cleans just blew me away! I don't play country or jazz, so I'm not looking for Twin Reverb cleans, but I have used the Remedy a few times a 50s rock and roll band with the Strat, and they like CLEAN tones - Remedy absolutely nailed it! Of course, in the rock band I play in occasionally, well what can I say?? It just ROCKS! I find the Remedy an excellent pedal platform, but it doesn't need a "virtual" amp in a pedal, you know what I mean? I use a medium OD and a clean boost, and with the amp set right, I have all bases covered (except the extremes at either end: Fender TR cleans, and modern metal). I am intrigued by the Antidote too, but am very curious as to where the space is for it in the lin-up. I know the Doc says it sits between the Route 66 and the Remedy, but I didn't think there was enough space there for another amp, but what do I know, eh? I bet it will sound fabulous wherever it sits, but it ain't dislodging my Remedy!

It will take a heck of an amp to dislodge my Remedy, incredible amp. And the funny thing is I've had lots of Boutiques and something was a muck with all of them. The Remedy is just perfect IMO. Mines off at Z mod shop getting Z bypass mod, and I'm miZZing the heck out of it . Makes me think of that song by Player, Baby come back. lol I've opted out of the PPIMV as I'm always turned up, well 90% of the time and I just tend to like non-mastered amps.

^^^^ Believe me, if I didn't have to control my volume at just about every gig, I'd opt out as well - but I do, so I'll have to get it done - and the Bypass Mod too

I have already received a reply for the price of a brand new updated version of a Remedy(and its differences with the upcoming Antidote) and it's very reasonable. I have decided that it'll be really the Remedy for me. It wasn't stated though when the updated version will be officially released.
Pete, I share your point of view about clean tones. I'm also not looking for super cleans like a Fender Twin Reverb or extreme gain out of the Remedy and also not looking for "vintage-correct" tones. I'm not sure if it's named after the Black Crowes song, but for gainy tones, that band has my ideal tone(Jealous Again, Hard to Handle, etc.).
