I have a 1x12 Dr Z cabinet with a P12Z speaker. I think its about five years old. Does anyone know anything about this speaker? Thanks.

I had one that I used with my Ghia for a while... very woody, smooth, natural sounding speaker with good bass and lower mids, slightly attenuated upper mids, and a silky smooth top end. I've heard it called a a sort of cross between a Sliver Bell and a P12N. Made my Ghia sound more on the Deluxish side of things. It was a nice speaker, but in the end I found I prefered a Vintage 30 with my Ghia.

Thanks for the response. I had found a review on Harmony Central by Perry Roper, and some comments on The Gear Page that compared it to a Weber P12N, which seems to translate to the current 12A150B. I'm still not sure about wattage, voice coil size and cone type though.
Your description makes it sound like a good complement to a Vintage 30...good bass and lower mids, and slightly attenuated upper mids sounds like the opposite of a V30. I could use this as an extension cabinet with my Maz 38 Studio Deluxe, which has a V30, and I bet the combination will sound great together. I've had both about five years and never tried them together because I wasn't sure I could connect them simultaneously. Perry said this older Maz transformer was designed to be used this way.
I'll also try the V30 with my Carmen Ghia...provided I have a 16 ohm out on the Ghia. I don't remember if it has that, so I'll check tonight.
Thanks again.
