Hi. I'm about to get ahold of a Maz 38 reverb head. It doesn't come w/ a cab. I'm trying to decide what type of cab to purchase. A friend of mine did some recording recently. He said he used a Mesa head through a Z Best cab at the studio, and that it was the cab to get. I don't have the funds atm to purchase a Z cab. However, I'm considering a Mesa 2X12, preferably w/ a convertible back. Any and every suggestion is greatly appreciated.

I have used the MAZ 38 for years, mostly with a single 12 but also w/ a Zbest 2X12 and a convertible 2X10. I played a borrowed Z 4X10 a while back and it was REALLY nice, never had played that combination before. You really can't go wrong with any of 'em. I like the open back sound myself. If you are shopping, check out the avatar cabs, a lot of the guys around here have used 'em, check the BS&T section for a good deal. Good luck w/ it, and enjoy a great handbuilt amp!

I'm looking to stack my Maz 38 2x10 on top of 1 or 2 12s. Has anyone tried this?
