I saw them in Chapel Hill, NC before I knew what a Z was. Do you recall which one? Seems to me it was a head and cab, but I'm fuzzy on which model. Was it a Mazerati? Seems to me it only had 2 knobs.

Yes, David Bazan from Pedro The Lion was using a MAZ-18 Junior 2x10 (NR, I believe?) for a while. I do believe it was prior to Dr. Z installing their custom 10s. I recently asked him about this exact topic on the band's official message board. He was, back in summer of '04, using the MAZ with his bassist's Fender American Vintage '52 Telecaster. Needless to say, it sounded great. This specific MAZ has since been passed on to the guitar player from the band Crystal Skulls- Ryan. Here is a link to the thread on pedrothelion.com where I initially asked Dave about his Z amp: www.undertowmusic.com/messageboards/viewtopic.php?t=1677&sid=ce828a0b4d83acccb6bd4eb1cdfc1c15 He responded to the thread, personally; and I was stoked to have the info. Pedro The Lion using the MAZ back then was what initially convinced me I needed one! Hopefully soon...

Great band! One of my all time favorites. I like them even more now. I wonder if they did any recordings with the Z?
