I've been chasing "badge", G Harrison arpeggiated Abbey Road Licks, Lonnie Mack and David Gilmour - guitar through a leslie sound since I first heard it in the early 70s.
I've had some rigs that were close and if the drummer was playing live, sounded pretty right but I never nailed it until I played the NEO ventilator through a Z-wreck.
Hubba Hubba that's the stuff
I've hauled enough 122s around to know that I ain't carrying one of those things anywhere even for a house band gig. ..ever no more..
The ventilator is all the way there. Including the "can't quite clear your throat distortion" on the bass rotor that fuzzes out different than the "horn rotor quack" and including the not synced up rotation and ramping. It's actually worth the stupid expensive amount it costs.
I never though I'd own a rig that sounds as good as this wreck plus pedals.
The only negative I can come up with is that the bypass on the unit sounds maybe 2% less good (slight loss of dynamics) than a loop hard bypass. One beer and you couldn't tell the difference. It's almost insignificant but what the hell, I wouldn't be the tweak that I am if I didn't mention it. The NEO ventilator is the deal with the "secret sauce".
