I picked up a Vibramate for the B7 Bigsby a couple weeks ago and was thinking about Bigsby-ing some guitar here. Then after thinking about it and looking around I pulled the trigger on the Bigsby B5/Vibramate combo the other night. Whole thing attaches to just the stop tail stud screws. B5 is technically for "flat top electrics" but the Vibramate site says it works fine with carve top Les Pauls too citing Randy Bachman and GE Smith. Should be here later in the week.

It is tempting to try this. Every time I play my LP I reach for the whammy bar which it does not have. My other guitars are a strat with floating trem and a Reverend with Bigsby. I try not to overdo the "warbly" thing but sometimes you just have to have it.
Can you restore a LP to fixed bridge without damage afterward?

Great product. B5 on a 61 RI SG Standard is really cool- all you do is unscrew the stop tailpiece and slap it on there. Awesome.

I've been thinking about one of these on my Tele for a few years now since I love the Bigsby on by Gretsch so much.

This all looks very cool and appears to be pretty simple to accomplish. More GAS ;D

Vibramate/Bigsby B5 worked flawlessly last night. Also brought along the tiny little ZT amp which amused all as I set it up. A lot of "what the, huh"? after I lit it up. The little thing kept up with the band and held it's own even set up on the bass player side of the stage. No substitute for the Z's but an awesome little travel thing.

Congrats on the vibramate Eric but I gotta ask how the ZT sounded. Granted it's SS but did it have thickness or just Di'd into the board? I'm curious.

Little ZT thing was surprisingly thick. It was mic-ed up for the gig. The mic stand looked really funny in front of it. It has gain, volume & tone and also an 'ambience' knob that supposedly makes it sound more open backed. I had a 4 knob Bearfoot Ruby Red Booster also but only used it for solos.

Looks cool and great report Eric...
How did the feel and sustain change with the new setup?

Just for the heck of it I took the B-5/Vibramate rig off of the LP today. Absolutely not a mark on it where the Bigsby was. I'm sure the Bigsby will be back. and all the way back.

That was way to easy looking. And it looked a lot cleaner on the body than the Bigsby intended for Gibbys.
