I have a elementary question about the Z Wreck. I am looking to get a bit more mids out of my Z Wreck. I notice that a lot of pictures of the Z Wrecks have their bass and treble around 11:00. Does turning these knobs less than 12:00 lower the bass and treble and let more mids through? I am just curious to see why a lot of people have their Wreck set like that.

I finally downloaded this a couple months ago and it's awesome. Everyone should have a copy of this to get a visual of what your tone stack is doing. And it's free www.duncanamps.com/tsc/ www.duncanamps.com/tsc/download.htmlThe Wreck is a Vox stack with the ground lifted on the bass pot, close enough to give you an idea. There's sliders on the bottom for bass, mid, and treble. The Vox style is very interactive and gets really weird at extreme settings, 0 or 10. Also Maz 18/38 is very close to the Fender and and Remedy is a Marshall tone stack. have fun rp

Hey Brian. I don't know how to get "more" mids outta the Wreck, but I feel like the Wreck has the ability to adjust mids in a way that dials in the tone I love. If you turn the Treble up to 3 o'clock as a starting point, quite a bit of midrange has been rolled off of the tone (even more rolled off at 4 o'clock). From there, as you dial the Treble back now, you'll hear mids coming back in, dramatically returning to your tone by 2 o'clock and even more by the time you hit 1 o'clock. That's the real sweet spot range of treble/mids setting for the Wreck to my ears, between 1 and 3 o'clock. Of course the bass control alters things a bit, too, as these tone controls are so interactive. I usually have the bass somewhere between 9 and 1 o'clock. But then there are days where I've looked at the knobs at the end of a playing session only to be amazed at how differently I had it set, so I guess I noodle with 'em now and then without even really paying attention. Different tones for different moods on different days. Nice. And all good.
