Hey all, just acquired a SD Custom Shop '78 for my Lone Star Strat.........I am gonna have her dropped in next week......can't wait to hear how it sounds with the Maz!

No problem, guys! Right now, I am trying to research how to wire it closest to how Eddie did it. I am guessing that it would end up going full open to the volume knob, because EVH did not have it hooked up to the tone control on his "Frankenstrat." As soon as its in, I will provide a full write up!

I've got one of these. I got it a few years ago for my '86 Kramer Baretta. Long story, but I didn't like it as much as I thought- but it had nothing to do with the pickup itself, which in my opinion is a great, balanced sounding "slightly hotter than PAF" pickup. I always wondered what wood my trusty old Baretta was made of, and after a lot of research I discovered it's solid maple. *Very* bright guitar. I ended up putting in a SD Custom Custom, which I think has too much output for my tastes. The '78 is now awaiting installation in a Nuno Bettencourt sig model for further evaluation.
