I'm swapping a neck from a strat to put on a tele body (with a strat neck route). Is there anything I should do after cutting the strings and removing it like loosening the truss rod?

I'm no luthier (and shouldn't be allowed near power tools), but I've swapped a good deal of Fender necks. I never touch the truss rod unless they need adjustment at tension. I just remove and re-install the neck. The only thing I'm pretty careful about is taking the neck bolts off like you would change a tire--slightly loosen one, then the one across, and so on--and re-installing with the right amount of torque.

Good advice from cosmo.
Leo designed these things to be modular - be not afraid!

Don't overtighten the scews. Just get them snug. the truss rod will be fine without loosening it.

Thanks guys! I was just worried that if I took off the neck and had it lying around that it would warp a bit from the truss rod tension.
