I am using a .001 mf cap in parallel with a 150 k-ohm resistor for my humbuckers. Is this the same formula commonly used with single coils?
I am looking for a formula to use with single coils........appreciate any insight. So far I have heard that you only need a .068mf capacitor and no resistor.......for single's and p-90's...

Brother James, !! Hey man, if ya havent been there already check out Kinmans pickups site. It's a killer, lots of great setup and wiring info. He has some diagrams of (his) formula for treble bleed/volume tapers. A little lower value on the cap i think for the single coils, if i recall. Peace man, talk to ya soon! Loucious

I never had one in my P90 Les Paul and felt that the tone was reasonable even as I dialed down the guitar's volume. I had some issues with loss of treble with the Fender Noiseless Pickups, swapped them out for Kinmans, and then felt the Kinman cap zapped too much low end as I dialed down.
I removed the cap on the Strat (kind of rhymes) and I've been happy ever since. The tone feels even although I might get a little extra sparkle on 10 with the Kinmans.
I wonder if my ear and feel is just trained due to never having used one for 20+ years.

19jmm68, Just for grins, trying using a 100pf Silver mica cap without a resistor. Or try a an 82 k resistor with the 100pf. Fralin likes a .0025 cap with a 220K resistor. have fun! Rick
