My Carmen Ghia Head should be here in a couple weeks, and I'd like to go ahead and order a Brake Lite.
Should I get the Stand alone version since I have the head, or should I get the mountable brake lite and put the mount under the handle like some of you guys do?
Is there a difference between the brake light and other brands? will this work with a Marshall amp?

If you have a preferred cab that you plan to use most of the time you could mount the BL in there.
I do the handle thing, taking care if I tilt the amp (combo) back. (I have BLs mounted in a couple amps as well.)
The SA has an additional speaker output. Not sure if that's important to you.
The BL, either version, will work with amps that put out 45 watts or less. I think it also may be restricted to 4 to 16 ohms, but that covers most amps. If your Marshall meets those criteria, you're good to go.

Tube amps only. You can't use a Brake Lite on a solid state amp. I'd go for the Stand Alone version - if you're getting a head, you might get another and another and another.

I recommend the stand alone version. It's easier to use it with other heads/cabs. Either is the same on the inside, but the SA version is just a bit more practical to your overall rig in a long-term sense, imo.

with the mountable version, couldn't I daisy two 1x12 16ohm cabs together and plug cab 2 into 1 and 1 into the BL, and just use the 8 ohm setting on the amp?

Or use a "Y" speaker cable.

Thanks guys! If anyone has the SA they like to get rid of, I'd gladly take it off your hands. I can't access the classifieds for a couple more weeks.

I have the big grey AirBrake which I assume is the stand alone version, I like it because it's easy to use with all my amps, it is just like another pedal to me. Also, everybody looks at it and asks "What the H--ll is that"
