Just got one I had ordered months ago. The new necks are a little deeper and reminded me of some early 60's necks. The fretwork is excellent. Plays perfect. Notes just popping off the board. Super smooth fret finish. The bigger front pickup is like a humbucker with great bite when dimed and can really be dialed in for a sweet clear tone like a fat tele when rolled back. You must work the volume and tone controls.... its all there. Fit and finnish is about perfect. I'm sure someone would find something but not me. Took a while but I'm pretty happy. The rosewood is a bit dry and the G&G case isn't that great but my dealer is going to replace...maybe just got a bad one. Through the RXES its all there clean and dirty. For the money these are very tough to beat. The new necks really are great if you like the ealry 60's Fender feel. I own a 1963 Tele and 1962 Strat for comparison. I needed some stuff to take to some less safe gigs and these fit the bill. This is my second ASAT Classic.

Congrats on the new axe. ;D I am sure it is a beauty and it will bring you lots of good tones and good times for the years to come. I am still a big fan of G&L - despite keeping only one of the many I have owned over the years ..... sometimes I think I should get a nice Fullerton Red ASAT so that my Legacy won't feel so lonely ( you know you've got g.a.s. when you come up with rationale like that for getting your next axe) ;D

Thanks...If I ever learn how I'll post some pics I will. And to be completely upfront I ordered it and bought sight unseen through a dealer I trust. Something I've never done. He told me he tweaked the setup a bit before he sent it...So out of the box I can't vouch for it. They also sent the wrong spec guitar at first so my dealer called and told them he was upset...They built 2 more to spec....sent them 2 weeks later and let us pick the best one...I thought that was pretty stand up of G&L...Showed me they cared anyway...

That is great customer service . Ask Fender to do that ! I did have 2 G&L Strat type guitars but in my thinning process I had to part with one which was not easy . I still have a Comanche with the Z coils , I kept it because you can get some serious mojo out of it unlike other Strats . I did have an Asat classic some years back and thought it was an excellent guitar but I'm mainly a Strat player so it was sold .

Check out pic posting advice under Ask the Experts ..... Lefty has provided good instructions. And, I ordered my first EBMM Super Sport sight unseen. Knew that I liked the color and knew I liked the design. Now, I've got a matching pair. ;D cheers Joel
