I know someone does, because I heard of them from someone on the forum...

I played a friend's Roman, and it was awesome! I've never played a guitar that felt that good.

The guy has no customer service skills at all. At least, he didn't with me.

Waaaaay back when I had a couple PRSs I heard some bad stuff on various forums about Roman cutomizing his stock of those instruments rather poorly. But a friend in LV swears by the guy... So who can tell?

Ed traumatized me as a kid, going into East Coast Sound, 25 years ago. A part of me still thinks salesmen are doing me a favor when they take my money...

I know of Ed from the East Coast Music Mall as well. He was on his way out when I started shopping there though.
I can't comment because I've never had any dealings with him directly, but it shouldn't be too hard to find a bunch of people who've dealt with him. I would check Harmony Central as well.
Good luck.

Ed Roman has more opinions of him then Fender has tubes. I dealt with him, over the phone, and found him a bit abrasive, but helpful and professional. I was asking him about ordering a Heritage 535, with a bunch of options. He told me that I was pricing myself above what a Heritage should cost, and I should consider a Robin guitar (what would Batman say?). I didn't go there, but I thought it was interesting that he did suggest that.

As much as I loved playing one of his guitars... i dont remember which, I will NEVER buy one from this guy. Harmony central has WAY too many horror stories. He averaged about a 3/10 in customer service with quotes like
"Ed Roman turned out to be the proverbial car saleman of guitars."
"Hah, R U Kidding me? Pissing Razor Blades would be better service and easier to deal with."

My only contact with Ed was back a few years . I had advertised a PRS for sale and he phoned. The guitar had already sold but we gabbed for at least 40 minutes on his coin about guitars and especially PRSs. He seemed quite friendly and informative and passionate about good guitars and we had a great conversation. He asked me to be his Canadian rep but a salesman I'm not. Anyway, since then I've heard a lot of horror stories about him and he's been the brunt of many a joke on TGP. The guy certainly is outspoken and opinionated and I guess the negative things about him are true because of the shear volume of stories but my short experience with him on the phone about six or eight years ago was enjoyable ($00.02). It was just two guys with a passion for guitars.

I've read as many good things as bad things about him, I've never dealt with him, seems to have almost every iconic guitar cloned now in his own label, some of them are works of art and others firewood from what I read in reviews. Most of the bad stuff I read was warrenty related customer service, but then again try dealing with Fender for anything =/
On the up side I hear he has a huge showroom with TONS of selection:)
