This ought liven this place up.............................................
Tonight I was performing solo in a very quiet environment. After warm up, I left the amp on, turned down the vol pots on the guitar. Then, so I could see what time to begin, I rested my (muted) Android Cell phone on the 1/4 inch plug coming out of the tuner and went to say hi to some people.
When I came back to the amp it was "going off" like somebody dumped a Dr Pepper into it. It was making a lot of racket. I unplugged the input to the amp and the racket continued. I put it into standby (while also having moved the cell phone) and when I took it out of standby, it was quiet as a clam. I put everything back where it was (including the cell phone) and two minutes later the rig went off again. This time I only removed and shut down the cell phone. It got quiet and stayed quiet for the next hour. Most people would not set their smart phone on their pedal board but most people don't even play guitar. The sub group of guitar players who play Z-wrecks is of course much smaller yet. The sub group of guitar playing Z-wreck owners with android phones is even smaller and the sub group of android phone owning guitar players who play in very quiet surroundings.. (OK I'll stop now) [/i]
The moral of the story is: Z-wrecks apparently don't like smart phones.
