anyone have any experience with one? just got back from GC, played one for quite a while. sounded really better than any of the gibson p-90s they had. its hard to get a real sound with the amps they have to plug into.

I have looked at the SE series guitars by PRS and feel thay are excellent value for the money . I do believe the P90 model is equipped with SD's but I could be wrong .

Not sure, I checked the site and it didn't say. I like the godin LG P90 a bit better for the money, but the PRS is just fine, too. I think the Godins are cheaper up here than in the US.

If given the choice between the PRS SE and the Godin LG 90 I would choose the Godin hands down . These guitars sound and play excellent AND are made in USA and Canada ! Do yourself a favor and anyone else who thinking of getting a P90 equipped guitar , go out and try out a Godin LG 90 . Also , do not plug it in right away , play unplugged and you will see how resonant these guitars are and why they sound aw some plus they are equipped with Seymour Duncan's I do not have one at the moment because a friend purchased mine but I will be getting another at some time ;D. I do own a PRS McCarty Soapbar and would put a Godin LG against it any day . I don't know how they price out in the USA but I would think about the same as here in Canada . Edited to add.....check out the reviews on Harmony Central .

Also the Reverends should be considered in this price range.

I had one of the latest SE Soapbars a year or so ago and wasn't particularly happy with the way it played so I dumped it. Then I got one of the older PRS SE Singlecut Soapbars (I guess they stopped making them, but let the few that they put aside after the lawsuit get out there once that was settled) and it played real sweet. That said, I swapped out the pups for Fralin P-90s, and it's a pretty kickin' guitar now. The original pups are "Seymour Duncan Designed", as I recall; they're OK, but the Fralins make a world of difference.
