There was an ad for this on craigslist for a few months, and the price just went so low I had to check it out. It's an '06 Eric Johnson Strat. The guy bought it because he's a fan. Well, as it turns out he wanted something a little more modern for his shredding style. He hadn't even opened the accessories up, or taken the plastic off the pickguard. I always wanted a black Strat. I'm sure glad I didn't judge it's sound by his Roland jazz chorus .

Congrats on the EJ strat there mate. Try are supposed to b a beautiful guitar. I'm not really a big fan of off the rack fender stuff these day but the Eric johnson model is supposed to be a real winner. The fact that it's made to E.J's specs won me over. I always liked strat with really deep contours like those on late 50's models and those USA re-issues,thin nitro paint jobs instead of those really thick urethane jobs they used to do and nitro necks with jumbo frets. another thing that one me over is the fact that there is no string tree, staggered klusons. A lot of people these actually like a flatter radius as well, I know they don't fret out when you play up the neck but i must admit not being a shredder and getting used to the old 7 1/4 inch radius over the years with a high action actually prefer more of a traditional neck. The times I have played a flatter board have found it a little wierd getting used to. How have you found the 12' radius, I have been seriously thinking of getting an E.J model but not sure if the 12' board will suit me. Congratulations once again, your blackie looks great by the way

Very nice. I love the feel of the neck on those and they sound great. Tried one out with a MAZ Sr. The Jr will sound awesome.

Yes, it does sound awesome through my rig. The thing I love is the weight. It's so light. The radius isn't bad at all. My other Strats have a 7.25, and a 9.5 and I have been fine going back and forth between them all. You could always buy it at GC and you have 30 days to bring it back if you couldin't get used to the 12" radius.

I'm still trying hard to come to terms with shredding and a Roland Jazz Chorus amp in one breath.

I'm still trying hard to come to terms with shredding and a Roland Jazz Chorus amp in one breath. Yeah, not really a shredding amp. He did have a Tonebone classic with it.

I had the same urge last week: Enjoy the new guitar. The black ones sound better, don't they.
