Hi there! Any of you top-gear experts know about these guitars?: www.guitar-mod.com/rg_guitar.html - Rothstein Guitars - I saw the name on ToneQuest-web-site and got interested, because I am looking for a versatile lightweight guitar of "strat"-type, they got bonenut, Buzz-Feiten and you can choose Lollar or Fralin or... pick-ups, different wirings etc.

I could only see a couple of headstocks. One was hideous! The other was normal. They look to be very nice guitars.

Yes, I agree that the "Ice Blue Metallic T" has an ugly headstock, but the other 12 examples to me looked like normal Strat og Tele - type headstocks - the guitars mostly look like Strat and Tele models with a little variation of course, since they are custom made. I don't know if these Warmoth-bodies are of equal quality to Fender Custom Shop guitars, Lentz etc.? They wrote to me, that pricing would be around 1700-2200$

Hey Mogens, Unless you are looking to get something specific from this product line I would consider sticking to the big name companies, simply from a re-sale point of view. You can add all of the mentioned goodies to any stock Strat or Tele (or something else too) and come away with a smoking players axe, then if you need to unload it you can put the stock parts back on it and sell it easily. We have all seen the vintage market place take off for pieces by the well know manufactures and this translates well for the resale of these well known brand names as most people lookin for used pieces will gravitate toward something they recognize and shy away from unknown gear. This of course does not mean that these are inferior guitars or that the Fender line is the be all end all either. That's what makes this game so much fun, there are infinite possibilities. Just something to chew on. Good Luck! [glow=limegreen,2,300]-J-[/glow]

Hey Jebus! I get your point and have had the same considerations myself. I get tempted by these exotic expensive pieces, but you are damn right about resale, especially in a little country like Denmark. I think after all, that I end up with another Fender. But firstly I hate this fake relic stuff, though I could accept nos models. Next I don't like small vintage frets, and even though the guitar has a fabulous sound, I am not completely happy with my Nocaster's U-shape neck. I prefer the more "modern" (?) shapes. So I think, I maybe will go for some of Stu's Fender custom nos models with 9,5" radius and 6105 frets (Fat Sound Guitars)
