Hey all,
I discovered that I have a trio of Seymour Duncan Quarter Pound Tele pickups (1 lead, 1 rhythm, & 1 mystery Pup) from the '80s that have been hanging around in an old gear bag for the past 15 years. A friend laid them on me back in about 1990 or '91. I've never used them.
I have a Deluxe Nashville Tele with a trio of rather harsh Tex-Mex PUs. I'd like to experiment with installing the Quarter Pounders, but I'm wondering how vital the QPs are after just sitting around collecting dust for 15+ years. Can you tell me, all else being ship-shape, if the magnets should still be as powerful as they were when new? Would they have lost something without regular use? Is there any way to test them without going to the time and expense of installing them?
Thanks!
