Cool video!
And LeftyLang, I just saw the picture of your tele on the Frankinstein website. I read the description and I was thinking "the name is familiar..." When it said you also had a Daphne Blue strat to match I knew it was you!

BW: That's very kind! I think people who buy guitars for that amount of dosh are collectors more than players, a bit like the bottles of wine that cost a fortune and never get drunk? ? I was telling John Peach that my 62 strat sounds a bit flat. Don't know what is exactly wrong. 44 year old pickups perhaps?

I've wanted a Gretsch for YEARS. Are all of the newer Japanese makes better than the old ones or is this one just exceptional? I can't decide between a 6120 or Sparkle jet.

Most people agree that the new Japanese Gretches are far more consistant from one to another than the old ones ever were.

Billy's right. This is one instance where the past isn't always better. There were always... inconsistancies in the old ones, but the new ones are tip top. What kind of 6120 are you looking at? I love to encourage GAS. No matter what you're looking for, if you have a Gretsch question that can't be answered by the fine folks here, come to the GDP. I'd say these are the best two forums out there in cyberspace full of nice people from all walks of life.

Amos Garrett rewrote and closed the book on Sleep Walk. Check his version out if you can.

That's sort of what I gathered. I might look into either a DC59 style with Filtertrons or maybe a Firebird w/ P90s down the road.
