Any Robin Guitar owners out there?
I recently got a great deal on an Avalon. What a terrific guitar. Just wondering about the folks here. Haven't seen any posts.
Thanks! -Phil

I'm not sure what the regular second-hand price is, but I got mine for $900 with case. It was at GC, and I don't think they knew what it was. This guitar originally retailed for around $2600. One-piece chambered mohagany body, maple top, goldtop finish with natural edge. Light as a feather, sounds like a really good Paul. Rio Grande P-90s. 2004 model.
I have always liked Les Pauls, but never felt comfortable playing one. My right hand always seemed too far from my body, and they rode too far to the right, if that makes sense. This Avalon somehow feels more natural on me.
Also, it sounds killer though my Rx. Tomorrow - the Ghia!

Its not my main axe but it sounds GREAT for certain things. You should call Dave over at the Robin factory and take a tour since you're in Houston. It's a great hang and by the end of it you want to drop down that credit card.....

I met Luther Dickenson of the North Mississippi Allstars about a year ago and he had just bought a Rawhide. He had nothing but good things to say and I thought it sounded great. I hadn't heard of them until then, but I'd love to try one.

Sama: I have been there many times - went to the "Robin Reunion" in 2005, did the tour, played with the wood. Drooled on a few guitars. After that, a BBQ and jam session. A great day, and cudos to Dave for putting it on.
The Robin sounds great through the Ghia. Ghia on, like, full, and just big 'ol fat notes all night.
