Lovin my Z-Wreck but have noticed since I received it that there is a fairly quiet 60 cycle hum. As you turn up the volume it doesn't get louder. Does anyone have this same thing going on? Is it normal or should I have it looked at?

Sounds like mis-matched output tubes. They can drift with time.

Might has a slight hum too, but it's pretty normal IMHO. I tend to find all my Zs to be on the quiter side of the spectrum when it comes to hum, etc.

Just an update to my original post. I bought a match quad of the Perferred Series 7189's tubes from the Tube Store which I believe are Russian NOS tubes from the 1980's. Those are supposed to be the recommended replacements for the Z-Wreck. It fixed the hum issue. The Z Wreck sounds better than ever. Thank you Dr Z for your excellent customer service. My neighbors do NOT thank you however! I can't say enough good things about the Tube Store. Great customer service and fast shipping from Canada. I will be back for sure for more tubes.
