I have been using 10's on all the electric guitars I've owned, until this week. I just put 11's on my LP copy. It has a longer scale than a LP and I had always thought that for P-90's, the guitar was thin. Man, the difference in tone is amazing. My Mazerati has more character, harmonics, and sustain. I could actually feel and hear a difference in the guitar right away, even unplugged. I could not really hear the guitar unplugged with 10's.
I also feel like I play too hard anyway, I have working man's hands and those little stings are too delicate for me. Now, I can play like I want and the strings aren't giving in so much.
I have actually had a series of guitars that were too weak in the pickups, and sold many effect pedals based on their sound and the "weak" guitar signal. I wonder what those effects would have been like with the bigger strings? Live and learn. I don't need effects so much anyway, I love the Mazerati even more now, and my unique, LP copy.
I just hope that the extra tension isn't too hard on my fingers over time.

What 11's did you use Foxx ? I'm thinking of switching from D'Ad 10-52's to 11-49's . I think the 52's are a bit too big and probably having heavier strings on the high side would give more meat to the tone . I don't think dropping from a 52 to a 49 on the big E will make much difference .

I'm using GHS Boomers. 11-50. a 52 would be too big for me as well.
