Well here it is, my new/first Custom built instrument. It's Chambered, maple top, not as light as I would have liked approx 8.5 LBS. 2 Fralin Unbuckers tap-able of course, Tone Pro's Tune-O-Matic, Gold-Top, more brownish than a Gibson green, built by the bass player in one of the bands I'm in NUdE. Sean Bowers. He's a Roberto Venn grad so It's what I expected and then some, Super Resonant, and chimey, almost Gretsch like when the two pups are split to single coil. When the pups are split to single coil by themselves, if I close my eyes, I swear I'm playing a Fender. Lindy's a Genius!!!!

What's your Impression? Sorry couldn't resist... ;D

That's pretty slick-looking, and sounds like it sounds purty, too. What's the story with the neck?

I'm not sure of the radius or thickness as it was hand carved. But it feels allot like my old PRS McCarty except it's slightly wider. Kind of what we were going for. It's a 25.5" scale. It's a 5 piece neck, 3 pieces of Mahogany, and 2 small strips of Maple. It's by far the most stable, solid neck I've ever played. It's a set neck too if you can't tell from the pic. Pyramid frets, and a well carved bone nut. Schaller over sized tuners on the headstock that has the same piece of Mahogany running through it. Very cool!
I needed something that could Bop, Rock, and Twang. It does all three equally well. I does indeed sound as good as it looks. I just recorded with it for the first time last week and it records very well, much cleaner and "In Tune" than my old McCarty.

Interesting build.....I like it ! Does this fellow have a website or does he just build a few . I like how he has fit a piece of mahogany for the access cover , very neat . Combining the mahogany and maple in 5 laminated pieces should make it a very solid neck and he looks to have used a very nice slab for the body .

It looks like the offspring of Gumby and a goldtop LP, in a good way. The finish is very nice and i'll bet it sounds really, really good. Love those Fralins.

Sean doesn't have a website yet. He's kind of old school, but in a good way. This is his 12th guitar, 2nd Impressionist. He is ramping up to do this full-time. He's " building the ant hill" so to speak. He is getting even more interest from this build, then he did from his previous builds. Here's are some pic's of another more traditional guitar he has built: www.pickguardian.com/pickguardian/Tele.html It's a beautiful hollow Tele, again with killer wood work. It again sounds as good as it looks. I've played 4 of his guitars and they all rock. That's why I had him build me one. LOL! That's the second time I've heard the Gumby thing.... I love it! Matt
