I just got my new KT-45 yesterday and I am extremely impressed. Haven't been able to try for any crunch sounds yet but this thing loves pedals, as has been said before. Especially tubescreamers; I've never heard a tubescreamer sound so good. It's the most dynamic amp i've ever played and is extremely transparent. I feel like I'm just echoing what others have said but needless to I am pleased. At the moment I'm running a single Vintage 30, but saving for a Celestion Gold. I've always been a big Vox fan and this definitely does a great AC30. I expect it to be even better with the gold.

Congrats on the KT. My experience is limited to the KT-45 side of the (discontinued) 6545, but it's been a nice experience so far

Not being redundant at all... If you like it, tell us all about it!
I think my favorite speaker, so far, is the Gold w/ this amp. However, I've been using my Mesa 1X12 EVM12L a lot (as I leave that cab where we play so I'm not lugging more stuff around). The EV sounds pretty good, too.
In fact, I haven't played it through a speaker yet that I didn't like. It really seems to get along w/ speakers well. This has not been the case w/ my other Z amps.

That's good to hear some positive feedback on the Gold. I've mostly heard of the G12H30s and the Vintage 30s being used with the KT45 but I've been either Blues or Golds by a friend since I got it, and I've always liked them in Vox's so I think it should turn out nicely. Had my first gig with it today and it sounded killer.

I think there's some Voxy chime with the KT45 (which is very welcome), but to my ears the tonal footprint is more like a mix between a Blackface Fender Pro and a 50 watt Marshall Plexi. Any way you shake it, the KT45 is a very special amp.
Any comments in regards to the tonal footprint of the 45?

The KT45 is an extremely versatile amp. I see it as a Hiwatt mixed with a little Vox DNA on the top end...but it's also amazing how well it can pull off the "Fender" thing. I sometimes use it with a T-Rex Room Mate reverb into my Z-Best and it's got a fantastic clean sound for tunes like "Lenny" and "Riviera Paradise"... not to mention the KT's awesome Mark Knopfler tones.
And, at times I hear a little JTM 45 in there too.....

Aaaaghhhhh! I'm drooling everywhere with the memory of Mark Knopfler tones. And the golds are divine (I run a 210 cab with the 10" golds). They get better every time I play.........
I've lent mine out for a couple of weeks to the aussie Dr Z rep, and then to a friend in another store (with the 210 golds). Sounds like the rep had a ball playing it alongside a route 66. Kid in a very nice candy shop.

That is the stuff! Love that fat dry tone. 8-)I'll just listen, I wouldn't enjoy it more even if I COULD cop it. Great tones and feel there.
