Hi folks, first post here; as a Maj 38 owner I tend to hang out over there. Just thought I'd let you know that one of the latest Line 6 modelers has a digital interpretation of the Dr Z Route 66 in it's boutique collection! Hey, don't shoot the messenger; I can imagine what many of you are thinking/saying. However, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery don't they say? Although I would imagine the reality falls well short of imitation of (or even remote resemblance to) this wonderful amp! Wonderful testimony all the same as it recognises that Dr Z amps have a character all of their own and are not simply imitations of other classic amps. Anyway, probably old news to many of you over here but I just thought I would share. Best wishes folks Oh yeah, the cryptic name for said model is Phd Highway... sheeesh, corny or what

yeah that one's been out for a little while now. It would be interesting to do a side by side comparison.

It is actually one of the most useful models on the HD500 imho.

Howdy,
It IS a compliment to Dr. Z amps, no doubt.

It is definitely a compliment. And I have to tell ya - it sounds pretty frickin' awesome! I have been using a Line 6 POD HD500 lately, as I went to a Bose L1 setup. As much of tube snob as I am, I'm appreciating the lower sound pressure levels while still being able to be heard. And my back appreciates it too.
Anyway - it definitely is a compliment and is a very useable tone. It won't replace an original of course, but in the scheme of things - it's a great tool.

Is that what the Z model on the HD is based on? That's funny because I owned a Pod HD for a while but returned it because of some compatibility issues. My favorite setting on it by far was the Z...and now here I am about 6 months later and my only amp is a Route 66.
