Ive been checking into adding a Bender system to my tele for some time now.Problems is it cost around $600 for a mcvay to be installed into your guitar.Fender has the American made Nashville Tele with B bender installed for around $1200.The only thing i see i dont really care for is the third strat pickup in the center of the pickguard but as i see it a person could change the pickguard and eliminate the pu if he wasnt satisified.Anyone experienced these guitars as i will probably pick one up soon. Any help would be appreciated. Mike

Have you thought about having a bender installed into an existing guitar? If so, I'd suggest calling Bill Bores in Houston...he does fine work and his turnaround time Im sure is a lot quicker than anybody else...that is unless he's gotten real busy since I last talked to him. This is what I believe to be his website...the phone number matches the last number I had for him. Tell him Ronnie Crecelius sent ya. Cypressguitars

Mike, This thread should help. drzamplifiers.proboards41.com/index.cgi?board=strings&action=display&thread=1150523274&page=1#1152061185Since my post on this thread I decided to have a Thinline Tele built with the Nasville Power Tele electronics (Fishman and 3 pickups). I purchased three Lollar pickups (two Blackface Strat and the Special T). Needless to say I really enjoyed the 3 pickup combination. I added a micro switch to switch back and forth between the magnetic and acoustic pickups. Should receive the guitar in about a week. Your right, you could remove the pickup, rewire the electronics, and hide the cavity with a traditional pickguard.

Mike I couldnt tell ya...I had to find an email from 2003 to verify that phone number on the website. I sold him a Glaser B&G bender tele back in 02 I believe and in 03 he made me a killer deal on a near complete P/W B-Bender tele...he was clearing out some bodies and stuff he had sitting around. the bender in that guitar was top notch but it was a maple body and I couldnt get the sound I wanted out of it and eventually sold it. Give him a call...he's a super nice guy and a pleasure to work with.

I wouldn't buy a Fender with the bender in it unless you can return it easily. I've only tried two but they were both at least 9 pound guitars. I don't know why. G & L has a Will Ray in their Tribute series with the Hip-shot installed. I think it's about $900.00.

Incredibly heavy! It's so heavy that you really have to be constantly thinking about not moving much, as any time the body sags you will get those accidental bends. I even went inside and tightened the spring a lot and would still find myself bending when I didn't want to. I sold it and bought a '76 thinline with a Parsons/White bender, and I couldn't be happier. Nice and light and no accidental bends. But it wasn't cheap!

Yeah i've done a lot of research into the subject and apparently the parsons/green bender that is put on the fender nashville is not only super heavy but is also unreliable and has many faults. The parsons/white is what i want.
