Just wondering: Did anyone in the forum buy or take a look at the guitars Quine's estate put up for sale? They were all inexpensive and probably pretty stock, but I thought long and hard about grabbing one of those old strats or teles... Maybe I could've scored one of the "Girlfriend" guitars. anyway, just a question for the forum...

Quine used to hang out at Rick Kelley's Carmine Street Guitars in Greenwich Village, NYC. His brother gave all the stuff to Rick to sell for him. A lot of the guitars were pretty new. He used to like to go up to Mannys when they got shipments of guitars. He'd play every one of the models he liked...for instance... if Mannys got in 20 of the US made '52 tele reissues...he'd play 'em all... and he'd buy the one he liked the best. Then he usually had a reall good set up done to the guitars and would often change the pickups, put on a new nut... He grabbed new guitars all the time...sorta subscribing to the 'New Bike Theory' (you get a new bike, you ride it more) Those are all pretty cool guitars.

Where and how were they being sold? There were some quarter page ads in VG for a few months about them not long ago. The prices were surprising for "celebrity owned"... Around $750.00 or so.
