Can anyone describe the Tom Anderson standard neck for a Hollow T? If you could compare it to a Fender neck, that would help (is it like the modern "C" neck)? I'm looking at a used one, but it is several hundred miles away, so I can't actually play it. Thanks for any info you can provide!

My Hollow T has a standard neck. Feels a lot like a normal Fender neck. My other TA has a '62 roundback and it's much larger. Get the serial number on the guitar. then you can go to the TA website and pull up the specs for that exact guitar. Then you can read up on them at the website.

Thanks Billy. The neck on the guitar I'm looking at is actually "0.03" oversized. Which the site says that it means it is oversized from the standard, but I couldn't find any specs about the standard neck. So, how do you like the hollow T?

Very light and comfortable. I actually just keep it as my backup to my other TA. I've got a Lentz on order so I'm thinking I'll sell this one. It's a mary kay kind of translucent white, hollowed ash with a bent ash top. Gold hardware. Maple fingerboard. Originally had a crushed pearl looking white guard, which i still have and two TA Tele pickups. I sent it back to the factory and had a splitting humbucking put on and a tortoise guard. More versatile now and I like the tortoise guard better. The neck is standard not .030 over.

Hey Kruzty, I LOVE my hollow T, It has a "Larger V" neck, The first one I wanted and missed was an awesome guit, it had the .050 oversized std. neck and was perfect for me, slightly larger than an Am.Std. type Tele neck, considerably smaller than a Nocaster bat neck, very nice IMO.
TAG's are incredible playing guitars, solid, stay in tune forever, awesome.

I've had my hands on many TA std. +.030 necks. I used to sell Andersons and this was the most popular neck shape. To me, with the 1 11/16" nut width, it feels like the Fender American Standard neck SHOULD feel like. Its a little thicker (not quite so wing bladed, if that makes any sense), but still very much a "C" shape. The shoudlers are not squared off, like a G&L or 70's Fender Strat. The thickness does not vary much, the profile only changes as the neck width naturally widens as you go up. Its a very artfully shaped profile, I believe a perfect combination of vintage comfort and modern sensibility.

My Anderson came in a couple days ago. After a minor adjustment to the neck seating (probably shipping "issue"), it plays like a dream. I'm still trying to figure out which strap button to use, though...

I called Anderson the day I got my hollow classic a few years ago and asked why the 3 strap bottons? And I ended up talking to Tom for quite awhile. He told me the main reason he does it is so when you set your guitar down and lean it on your amp it would be balanced and not tip over to one side or the other. Just one of the small details that made me an Anderson fan for life. Enjoy your new guitar! ;D Mark

My TAG neck feels very much like a Fender tele or strat neck. It is my favorite electric to play of all time and I've had quite a few. Attention to detail is the TAG's claim to fame plus they sound fine.

Yep, I'm enjoying the neck (and the rest of the guitar)!

I couldn't decide which strp button felt the best so I use the lower one, like Curt. It makes it easier to take the guitar off and on because of the longer strap. I don't like to muss my decorative wig! (I read that in some old ad for some kind of guitar strap. I guess they had in mind Vegas shows or sumpin'!)

FWIW, I use the upper strap button on my TAG. Haven't had a decorative wig to muss in a long time...
