Was wondering if any of you Tele pickers are using the STK 3/STK 1 humbuckers. I have an American Standard Tele and want to upgrade the pickups and eliminate some hum. These sound pretty good from the demos on the SD web site, but hard to tell on my tiny PC speakers.

Are you looking for "no-hum" pickups? If not, the Alnico II Pro Tele's sound really good. Also, the SD Antiquity series get rave reviews as well as Bare Knuckle Pickups Tele models.

Hey Tx Blooz, I have the STK in the Bridge of my '52 RI from 1997, It's a heavy azz fiddle and that may affect the tone..but I really like that pick up !! With the amp on the verge and the guit volume back just a touch it's a very nice vintage Tele tone, nudge her to wide open and it hits early broadcaster/P-90/PAF drive Nice and quiet, really a nice pup IMO, It was in the guit when I got it so I do not know how old it is, also, it's wired volume only, no tone control on the bridge, I like that also. Thanks Curt. Glad to hear that the STK sounds good. I just ordered an STK-1 for the neck. I already put a Lil '59 in the bridge and am happy with that so far. It doesn't quite have the classic Tele bite, but is kinda woody sounding and cleans up well with the volume pot.

Cool, I had a lil '59 in a Tele for quite awhile (BW does too!), really cool for 'bucker stuff but not so good for Tele tones, the STK is right there with it on the bucker tones but FAR, FAR better at the Tele Tones, Try it, You'll like it

I had the Duncan Stacks in a Tele for a while. The bridge pickup had plenty of balls, for sure. I didn't dig the neck pickup, though. Something "weird" sounding about it and was kinda muddy & dull....
YMMV- J
