Dave Wendler is a guy in Lawrence, Kansas that builds some very unique guitars, at reasonable prices. Very lightweight but also no dead notes and wide ranging tone. Just wanted to hep the Z-brothas to his goods. www.electrocoustic.com

I fixed it, check it out now. He also makes his own amp but it's for clean.

I love to try one. He claims they get a great jazzbox sound. I heard some clips and they sound good. Like to hear one live though.

I've played them several times. Depending on the type and placement of the pickup I'm they would be really great for jazz. As far as an archtop sound, I don't know. Dave is a really good guitar player himself and a talented maker. I wouldn't think he would say that if it wasn't true to a degree. That's the sound I would want. Also, the way he does the piezo thing in the bridge is really different. It's good and loud and full sounding and doesn't need EQ to sound good. It's usable just as it comes from the guitar. I'll bet his fretless bass with that pickup is awsome. I've seen a bass, it looked great.
