Hi,
I can pick up a used Gretsch Elliot Easton for $800 used. Does anyone have any experience with this guitar combined with a Maz 38 or DRRI? I think it's a good deal but don't know how it will sound with a Z. I'm currently playing a Tele and a Strat.
Thanks - Al Z.

I think it will sound great through a 38 or a DRRR. I used a Gretsch 6119 for a while ...and it sounded really good.

Hey Big, Congrats on the Easton. You may want to consider checking out TV Jones pups for your gretsch. www.tvjones.com/ I have a 6120 Nashville Jr and replaced the stock pups with TV's. Wow!! I have a 73 Fender DR. My gretsch, Les Paul, strats, Tele, and ES 345 sound like I'm playing through a Fender amp. When I play through my Z amps..a brand new tonal personality blossoms. The touch of the strings changes dramaticaly. It's like your car just got an upgraded brand new engine, transmission, suspension, and audio system all at the same time. As far as how the Easton will sound through a Z amp. You will be grinnin and a pickin for years! Rick
