Just out of curiosity... Lentz doesn't have any pricing info on his web.... What would a HSL or the H90 go for these days?

Man I could go for that BIG TIME! With the Les Paul markers is it still 25-1/2" scale? What's with the three knobs? What are the pickups?

One volume for each pickup, master tone. The pickups are Scott's take on the original designs, couldn't tell you about the scale, check www.lentzguitar.com and shoot 'em an email, they're real good fellas over there...I think this particular guitar is a 'one-off', (with the figured maple and crown inlay I mean). There is talk of a carved-top, set neck double 'bucker model on the drawing board...

Thanks. I looked on their site yesterday and sure felt the GAS kick in bad. But I just signed the line for almost $3,000 worth of TV and components so no guitars for me for a good long while.

I'm going to do it! I need carpentry on the house, paint job on the house, new glasses, brake overhaul on my 1959 sunroof Bug, new water main to the house, complete bathroom remodel and more. So I'm going to cash a life insurance policy (no kids anyway) that's worth $9,500 and use my home line of credit and get all this stuff done. If I'm doing all that I might as well buy a $3,200 guitar too! I don't know how to link it but I'm going to get the Lentz DL90, ash body, Gretsch orange, two P-90s, rosewood fingerboard with block inlays. What the hell, eh? Actually I'm scared to death of debt but the business is starting to do a lot better all of the sudden and I think we're in for a brisk economy for the forseeable future, barring unforeseen super disasters. And i will be paying my house off in 8 months or so anyway. So I'm hoping the glass is 1/2 full.

Who knows, your Lentz guitar may be worth as much as your life insurance in 15-20 years and you won't have to die to collect on it! ;D I am very poor but have never regretted spending big bucks on the guitar I really wanted. It may just end up being my superannuation as well! ;D

I've never seen the word 'superannuation'. I gather the meaning from the gist but that's a new one. Thanks for the new word! Curt: On the site they say 3 month wait. I waited 6 months for my T/A that I ordered. I felt that was excessive. The rest of the details are up in the "Ask BW" thread of the Ask The Experts section. Sending you up there saves me a lot of time two-finger typing. Check the Lentz site and look at the thing. It's a stunner. Like a morph of a 6120, a Tele and a Les Paul Special. I really like the two volume layout so you can mix the two pickups. The guitar is $3,000 plus $135 for the case plus S & H, so more or less $3,200. The only guitar I ever paid more more is a 1939 ES150 Charlie Christian Gibson, that was $3,600. Of course it's worth more now. I might sell my 1999 Tom Anderson Hollow T to help the funding. I hate to sell it myself except locally because I'm afraid of the packing and shipping. Consignment fees are 10% to 25% here and that's rather painful. Let me know if the threads aren't enough info. I'll be glad to tell you more.

Gotta love that new guitar smell! Now that WILL be a hard wait Billy, congrats. I'm hangin' to hear a good p-90 guitar through the 66. If I was handier tech wise I might grab some Fralin p90s or p-92's and try them in my Set Neck but I'm too afraid to mess with anything. It sounds so good anyway but I'm very curious about the p-90/Rt66.

Little update: Scott Lentz told me he doesn't bind fingerboards anymore. Too much trouble with the nut and running the frets out over the binding. I notice the NAMM guitar above does not have binding.
